Easter Blockade
Easter Blockade
When the pressure’s on, rail workers need welfare! Enable Welfare took on the massive logistical challenge of supplying welfare facilities to no fewer than nine railway stations simultaneously for contractors who were working against the clock during the Easter bank holiday weekend blockade.
As required by our client, Enable Infrastructure (formerly BCM Construction), these facilities were delivered just before the start of the railway possession and removed straight after.
To minimise the logistical challenge involved in such a tight timescale, we used a combination of easy-to-manoeuvre 24ft towable welfare units and welfare vans. This provision was bolstered by carefully spaced portable toilets.
In addition, we supplied three teams of deep cleaners to disinfect the welfare accommodation after every use and to manage the coronavirus social-distancing rules in force at the time.
It was a busy long weekend – but, according to our client, a very successful one.
